icBackup is installed directly on the server (or servers) you wish to backup.  We use standard external USB drives as the primary storage of data.  Every night, icBackup will perform a very fast local backup to this drive.  Once this phase is complete, icBackup will connect to one of our servers in one of our high-speed data centers and perform a remote backup.  This process results in the least impact on your server.

icBackup uses state of the art differential algorithm to perform a backup.  We can give you any version of a file that existed at the time icBackup is performed.  For example, If icBackup is scheduled to run at 2am every night.  We can give you a copy of any file that was present on your server at any 2am time.
